Check out this collection of 14,000 'Jerry Maguire' VHS tapes
You had me at VHS tapes.
Jerry Maguire, the movie that just won't go away, will soon celebrate its 20th anniversary (congratulations on 20 meh years, Jerry Maguire). Video collective Everything is Terrible decided to commemorate the occasion by building a video store made entirely of Jerry Maguire tapes -- over 14,000 of them, to be exact.
The store will be open to the public on Jan. 13 at the iam8bit Gallery in Los Angeles, and will close just two short weeks later, on Jan. 29.
The collective decided to create a video store since VHS tapes were the movie's primary home viewing medium back in 1996. After issuing a call for donations, tapes poured in. One person even donated 1,300 VHS tapes, because apparently they decided to spend their money that way.
Here is a deeply strange video of the project:
And here is a photo of Jonathan Lipnicki.
Happy anniversary, Jerry Maguire!
