That Kilgrave sure has a way of worming into everything – and as of today, that includes Jessica Jones season 2.

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that David Tennant will return as the mind-controlling villain, and even has the photo to prove it.

But ... how can this be?

Tennant's Kilgrave was a formidable foe for Jessica all throughout Season 1. At the start of the season, she discovers Kilgrave, whom she'd believed to be dead, is in fact alive and well. By the end of the season, she's killed him again, for real this time – she snaps his neck so that there's no room for ambiguity.

Or so we thought.

Marvel isn't saying exactly how Kilgrave returns in Jessica Jones season 2. It's possible he's still dead, and Tennant's just back to shoot some flashbacks and/or dream sequences.

But we can't rule out the possibility that he's come back from the grave. Comic book characters do it all the time – just ask Elektra when you see her in The Defenders next week.
