Getting on a plane and sitting down next to a screaming baby is the stuff of nightmares — but so is being the parent who finds themselves sitting next to an angry passenger when their baby is upset.

Because babies cry, and because parents could use just a bit more empathy, JetBlue decided to try to flip passengers' attitudes for Mother's Day.

In a new campaign, JetBlue came up with a plan to alleviate the fears of some mothers who didn't want to be "that lady with the baby who's screaming for four hours." On a flight from New York to California, the sound of babies crying became a good thing for passengers.

Every time a baby cried, JetBlue gave everyone on the flight 25% off a future round-trip ticket — up to a free flight.

While it's unlikely you'll be rewarded with a free flight next time there's an unhappy child on your plane, the ad could remind you to be a bit more kind.
