Comedian Jim Gaffigan's chatbot is here and it demands snacks
Chatbots for news, sports updates, and even government resources keep popping up as AI-powered conversations become all the rage, and now comedian Jim Gaffigan says he has the first comedy chatbot experience. You know, so you can laugh with a robot pretending to be a celebrity.
Aptly named JimBot, Gaffigan's chatbot is available starting Wednesday through Facebook Messenger.
I chatted with JimBot, who made self-deprecating jokes and talked about -- what else? -- food and snacks.
It's not the most titillating conversation, with only a few pre-made options to choose from, but JimBot, developed by humorbot maker and AI start-up BOT1, has some funny responses with GIFs, video responses featuring Gaffigan, and plenty of snark. The company promises some Easter eggs within the "choose your own adventure" style chat.
The bot also helps promote Gaffigan's upcoming Noble Ape tour, which kicks off next week in LA.
Now back to my conversation with JimBot to determine once and for all if Gaffigan has a dad bod or a hot bod.
