"Welcome to the Golden Globes," said host Jimmy Fallon Sunday night, before describing the awards show as "one of the few places left that still honors the popular vote."

Hey-o!! The Tonight Show host began the 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards ceremony with a star-studded La La Land musical parody and jokes about Donald Trump, as expected.

The opening number began with Fallon trapped in traffic on the Globes red carpet, a la La La Land, joined by various stars including Nicole Kidman, Amy Adams, Sarah Paulson, Sterling K. Brown and Courtney B. Vance, as well as Evan Rachel Wood in costume as Dolores, Rami Malek as Mr. Robot and Jon Snow gasping to life.

The La La Land homage continued with "Room Full of Stars," an appearance from Tina Fey, and Fallon and his close friend Justin Timberlake flying into the air.

On stage, Fallon began his monologue without a teleprompter. "Cut to Justin Timberlake, please, and he’ll just wink at me or something," Fallon said to the producers. He then talked about preparing for the hosting gig and talking to other hosts -- including Chris Rock.
