J.K. Rowling weighs in, fiercely, on burkini debate
LONDON -- France's controversial "burkini ban" is dominating headlines and dividing social media this week after police made a woman remove items of her clothing on a beach in Nice.
Authorities in several towns on France's Mediterranean coast have imposed a ban on the burkini, a swimsuit that covers the torso, limbs and head,on the grounds that the garment contravenes "good morals and secularism" and could incite violence. National treasure and all-round badass J.K. Rowling has joined the debate to make her feelings on the matter quite clear.
