Where there's a Harry Potter fan in need, there's J.K. Rowling to save the day. Always.

Harry Potter fan Kate, who goes by the Twitter username @AlwaysJLover, sent author J.K. Rowling a note with a very special, and very personal request.

Kate, who has a history of depression, self-harm and being a victim of bullying, thanked Rowling for inspiring her to start her recovery and healing process.

"I'm not proud of these things but it's who I am," Kate wrote in her note. "I'm also trying my hardest to stop self harming...I know you won't judge, that's why I'm telling you this."

She then kindly asked Rowling if she could handwrite the words "Expecto Patronum," so she could get the writing tattooed over the area where she has self-harmed the most.

It's not uncommon for some people who have self-harmed to want to tattoo over the scarred area, and some tattoo artists have even offered their services for free or discounted prices.

Naturally, J.K. Rowling granted her fan's request, with a note of encouragement -- because J.K. Rowling would never abandon a fan in need.

The tiny bit of cursive will undoubtedly make a beautiful tattoo.
