J.K. Rowling fights back as Donald Trump reinstates anti-abortion policy
J.K. Rowling has some important words about one of Donald Trump's first acts as POTUS.
Donald Trump has reinstated the Mexico City Policy, known as the global gag rule, which prevents non-governmental organisations working abroad from receiving federal funding for family planning if they perform abortions or even talk to their clients about abortion.
The Harry Potter author shared her thoughts on Twitter about his reinstatement of the policy, and she didn't hold back. Rowling tweeted screenshots of a Guttmacher Institute study into the impact of the global gag rule, which found that thousands of women's lives have been placed a risk as a result of the policy.

Rowling addressed some of the responses she was receiving, which appeared to make light of the reinstatement of the policy.
"Lady, if you think the deaths of vulnerable African women are a suitable subject for a pussy joke, you'd better hope there's no hell," wrote Rowling.
