Can we speed up time, please? BBC shared a first look of Jodie Whittaker as the new star of Doctor Who, and we could not be more ready to see how this series grows.

Whittaker is the thirteenth Doctor, taking over from Peter Capaldi.

Whittaker looks to be channeling some of the earlier Doctors who wore bright colors, and rocking Eleven's suspenders:

Whittaker's casting was announced in July and met with everything from wild enthusiasm to archaic misogyny. Her companions are also diverse, breaking the usual model of a white male doctor and his female companion.

The thirteenth Doctor will make her debut per tradition in the annual Doctor Who Christmas special, taking over the TARDIS from her predecessor.
