Obama-Biden bromance reaches zenith with surprise Presidential Medal of Freedom
In a speech meant to honor Vice President Joe Biden, President Barack Obama did the unexpected and awarded Biden with the Presidential Medal of Freedom with distinction.

"For the final time as president, I am pleased to award our nation's highest civilian honor, the Presidential Medal of Freedom," Obama said, prompting a standing ovation. Instantly, Biden broke down in tears.
Biden is one of just a few to receive the award. Past recipients include Colin Powell and Martha Graham.

While accepting the award, Biden told Obama: "I've never known a president and few people I've ever met in my whole life ... who've had the integrity and the decency and the sense of other people's needs like you do."

Before bestowing this historic honor, Obama kicked off his speech on a particularly sweet note.
"I just wanted to get some folks together to pay tribute to somebody who's not only been by my side for the duration of this amazing journey, but somebody who's devoted his entire professional life to service to this country," he began.
"This also gives the internet one last chance to talk about our bromance," he joked.
