Biden will also use his time on the Oscars stage to raise awareness of sexual assault. His wife Jill will also attend the awards ceremony.
Biden has been a longtime advocate for sexual assault awareness, writing an op-ed last November titled "It's On Us to Stop Campus Sexual Assault." The op-ed highlighted the "It's On Us" campaign he and President Obama created, and called on Americans to recognize the "epidemic of sexual violence on their campuses."
"It’s on me. It’s on you," he wrote. "It’s on us — and it’s within our power to end sexual violence on campus once and for all."
The Oscars will air Feb. 28.
