Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir are trying to give off 'Hunger Games' vibes at the Olympics, and it's working

May the odds be ever in their favor.

The 2018 Winter Olympics have arrived and the spotlight isn't only on the athletes.

The world is keeping a close eye on the skills, performance, and fashion of announcers, too, and on day one of competitions when people wanted a hot new Olympics meme Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski volunteered as tribute.

The professional figured skaters showed up looking like announcers for The Hunger Games and Twitter was shook.

The two got their hair did and busted out their best maroon sequins numbers for the big night. It was straight up Caesar Flickerman and Effie Trinket in that arena.

On Tuesday Weir responded to the Hunger Games jokes after NBC asked him how he felt about his outfits being compared to the character from the film.

"We love this," Lipinski said right away.

"I mean, we think it's hilarious," Weir added, laughing. "Going into Sochi, Caesar Flickerman was sort of my muse in preparing and getting ready, except I can't laugh like he did in the movie."

(He attempted the laugh and yeah, it could still use a little work.)

"But now people finally get it," he said about his fashion statement. "It only took them four years."

We'll have to wait and see if Weir says "Let the skating begin" at the start of his announcements. But until then may the odds be ever in your favor, Olympians.

UPDATE: Feb. 14, 2018, 9:05 a.m. EST Updated to include comments from Weir about the 'Hunger Games' comparison.
