Jon Stewart tells Tom Brokaw that social media has 'democratized abuse'
Comedian-turned-political commentator Jon Stewart can't figure out what's up with social media.
In a conversation with Tom Brokaw for his 50th anniversary on NBC News, the former Daily Show host talked to the longtime news anchor about the use of social media in today's hyper-connected world.
On one hand, Stewart sees social media, such as Twitter and Facebook, as a terrible force that has "democratized abuse" -- just look at the rampant Twitter trolls and fake news stories filling Facebook newsfeeds. While on the other hand he says it "connects people in a way that's remarkable."
Brokaw brings the conversation back to television, which as a teenager he found revolutionary.
