Mashable's favorite laptop from CES just dipped to a record-low price of under $650

As of July 1, the Asus Zenbook A14 (Snapdragon X Plus, 16B RAM, 512GB SSD) is on sale at Best Buy for $649.99, marked down from the list price of $999.99. That's a 35% discount that takes a major $350 off. Plus, this is a new record-low price that beats our excitement when this model dropped to $200 off and then $250 off. And all of these sale prices come on the heels of Asus slapping a $100 tariff on the Asus A14 back in March.
At this year's CES, Mashable walked away with naming the Asus Zenbook A14 as the best laptop. For starters, it's incredibly lightweight, clocking in at just 2.4 pounds with a 14-inch display. Those specs, combined with its super impressive battery life, makes this laptop pretty near perfect for travel. That could be true whether you'll need to work on a major work presentation or you're heading off to Europe for the summer and plan to blog about it.
The Snapdragon X Plus processor on the Zenbook A14 came in at similar scores to the previous MacBook Air's M3 chips, according to Mashable Senior Shopping Editor Haley Henschel's testing with the Primate Labs' Geekbench 6 CPU benchmark. In simpler terms, you're gonna be in good shape when it comes to multi-tasking on the Zenbook A14. Not to mention the ample 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD.
While Mashable has yet to do a full hands-on test of the Zenbook A14, Asus has noted an incredible battery life that comes in with 32 hours of video playback before it'll need more juice. If that proves true, it'll earn the top spot for the longest-lasting laptop battery Mashable has ever tested. Did we mention this is perfect for travel?
At CES, Henschel also noted pros that include, "..a vivid FHD, non-touch OLED display with a nice-for-entertainment 16:10 aspect ratio and 600 nits of peak HDR brightness."
If you've been holding out for a great deal on a Windows laptop, today's Best Buy deal on the Asus Zenbook A14 is well worth considering. At $649.99, it's the lowest price we've ever seen which is extra impressive given the impact of tariffs on some of our favorite tech.
