Justice League will be a lean, mean, fighting machine. Emphasis on lean.

The upcoming film reportedly clocks in at 119 minutes, making it the shortest entry yet in the DC cinematic universe.

Empire Cinemas in the U.K. has confirmed that Justice League is exactly one hour, 59 minutes, and 53 seconds long. (American chains AMC Theatres and Regal Cinemas list 121 minutes, but the shorter time seems to be the correct one.)

That means Justice League is much shorter than Man of Steel (143 minutes), Batman v Superman (151 minutes), and Wonder Woman (141 minutes). It's roughly on par with Suicide Squad (123 minutes).

So, what does that tell us?

Well, not much, actually. It's uncommon but certainly not unheard of for superhero movies to fall under two hours, and there doesn't seem to be a strong correlation between length and quality.

Sure, misfires like Suicide Squad and Green Lantern hovered around or under the two-hour mark – but so did recent hits like Deadpool (108 minutes) and the first Guardians of the Galaxy (121 minutes).

On the flip side, the three-hour "Ultimate Edition" of Batman v Superman proved superior to the 151-minute theatrical cut, demonstrating that a bit of extra room can help – while the messy The Dark Knight Rises (164 minutes) served as a reminder that longer isn't always better.

In other words, it's impossible to tell by looking at the run time whether Justice League will prove too long, or too short, or super-streamlined, or sloppy and disjointed. All we can do is hope that 119 minutes is exactly as long as this movie needs to be.

But hey, at least you can feel safe ordering that extra-large soda at concessions now.
