So much synth.

Picture Justin Bieber. (Yes, you really have to.) Now, picture him in a jacket with shoulder pads, guitar synth around his neck, fingerless gloves on his hands. He'd actually fit into the '80s pop scene quite well, right?

Well, now there's an actual sonic soundtrack to go with that mental picture. A Canadian artist called Tronicbox took a couple of Bieber songs and reimagined them as 80s pop hits, and did a damned good job at it, too.

"What Do You Mean," below, has all the elements of an 80s ballad: digital drums, an overload of synth sounds and an obligatory sax and guitar solo.

If you've never heard the original, which is impossible, check it out below. Now tell us you don't like the 80s version better.

Another song on Tronicbox's page is Love Yourself, and it's a little more funky but just as good as the first one.

When can we expect a full album?
