LONDON -- Justin Bieber's tour of the UK hasn't exactly been a smooth ride.

Just a few days ago, during a concert in Birmingham, he told fans to "just relax" after appearing to grow frustrated with them screaming while he was trying to talk.

And now, this.

In the clip above, which was filmed during a concert in Manchester, UK on Sunday night, the young singer walks off stage and throws his microphone to the ground.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Bieber came back and continued the show a short while later.

In a video that appears to have been taken after Bieber returned to the stage, the star says he wanted to connect with the audience. From the sounds of it, he walked off after once again growing frustrated with people in the crowd screaming while he was trying to talk.

"My point of the no screaming thing is so that when I'm looking at you in the eyes, you can actually know that we're having a moment and having a connection," he says in the clip. "So it's not me trying to be an asshole."

The incident drummed up quite a bit of reaction on Twitter.

Some fans, meanwhile, came to the Bieb's defence.

Mashable has reached out to a representative of Justin Bieber for comment.
