Does Kanye West know how to retweet?

Since his return to Twitter, Kanye West has done everything but retweet others. Why?

It's been less than two weeks since Kanye West's return to Twitter and things haven't gone that well. In fact, things have taken an, ahem, alt-right turn.

But the most concerning thing after Kanye's free-thought tirades and glaring headwear choices is his inability to make things easier on those of us trying to keeping up. The 245+ tweets he's fired off since April 13 has us asking many questions, but here's one that seems pretty important: does Kanye West even know how to retweet?

After doing some investigation, we know that Kanye can retweet. It's a knowledge he has somewhere in his brain, as evidenced by two tweets in this latest reiteration of his account. One tweet is circa 2014 from Def Jam co-founder Russell Simmons...

...and another from Twitter's very own Jack Dorsey celebrating his return to the platform.

But then things get a little strange. Kanye doesn't retweet again.

He posts photos of phones showing tweets, takes video of his laptop screen, but doesn't actually do the easiest thing in the world: retweet. It's almost as if there are so many gears winding in Kanye's head that he has forgotten that there's are two little arrows in between the reply button and the favorite button, primed for firing off co-signs on Twitter faster than any screenshot will allow him.

Instead, he chooses to go places he has no need to go — his camera roll. Maybe it's a fun hobby for him while he juggles multiple album projects, or maybe he just forgot that you can retweet.

Kanye seems more fond of going on a different road altogether. Just yesterday, get this, he posted a tweet showing a photograph of a phone that features an Instagram of a screenshotted tweet.

Like, what?

That's what he did when Donald Trump, another man who makes questionable decisions, quote-tweeted 'Ye with his approval. Seems like even Trump (or Trump's social media person) knows how to retweet.

🤔

If it was a one time thing then maybe it would be permissible, but no. It keeps happening. Instead of simply retweeting the tweets about Donald Trump and Tim Cook, he took a screenshot of his search results and tweeted the screenshot out.

Hmm.

He did the same with the president's co-signs as well.

And it's really starting to worry me. Perhaps it's just another ploy to get us to think differently about technology? Or this whole love/fear kick he's on? But seriously Kim, someone, anyone, please help him out here. No one man should have all this power and waste it by finding the screenshot to share on Twitter.

For someone so obsessed with aesthetics, it's a wonder scrolling down his timeline isn't an eyesore for him. Link the video, article or whatever, Kanye, but please for the love of the old Yeezus, don't do this anymore.

Or this.

Just hit the damn button! Or spare us from the daily madness altogether.
