Kelly Clarkson in breaking away once again.

In a new Facebook Live video Friday, Clarkson shared a whole host of exciting news for fans, including that she's signed with Atlantic Records and will be releasing a soul album in 2017.

The singer finished the requirements of her long RCA American Idol contract last year with the release of her seventh studio album Piece by Piece, so the departure isn't totally unexpected. Fans have been clamoring for a while for Clarkson to put out a different kind of music -- the sort she tends to cover in concert -- in addition to the pop hits for which she is best known.

“What’s cool about Atlantic is that they love every part of my personality,” she said in the video explaining her decision. “I love the country side of me and I love the Broadway side of me and I love the pop side of me and the soulful side of me, and they’re really down to make whatever record I’m into which I’m super excited about.”

Clarkson also announced a new site, KellyClarksonLive.com, which will spotlight live covers from the singer, which fans can download for free. Clarkson promised that the site will be updated each month with more fun goodies. For now, people can check out her take on Radiohead’s “Creep,” Coldplay’s “Fix You,” Etta James’ “I’d Rather Go Blind,” and Indie.Arie’s “Ready For Love.”

We'll be over here listening on repeat.
