Kevin Bacon is once again part of a complete breakfast.

In a new commercial for the American Egg Board's punny campaign, families are found wishing they had a few more degrees of separation from the actor when Bacon pops up in their homes unannounced to serenade them about eggs with his brother Michael Bacon.

He gets under the covers between a sleeping couple, flirts with the mom of an angsty teen and barges in on a man in the shower, all the while smiling and remaining creepily unfazed by the protests of his hapless audience.

The recurring joke, of course, is that nothing goes better with eggs than bacon, or in this case, Bacons.

"You grow up with a name like bacon and you get a lifetime of bacon and eggs jokes but you never would imagine that it would actually pay off," Kevin Bacon said.

The brothers said their last name has been a boon for their careers as the world's obsession with bacon reached new heights over the past several years.

All of the musical numbers featured in the spot are original compositions from the siblings, who have put out numerous country rock albums and toured together as the Bacon Brothers.

"The idea of using the Bacon Brothers was actually something we tossed around half-jokingly last year as where we could go next. Then when year two came, we got a whole lot more serious about it," says Susan LaScala Wood, creative director at ad agency Grey. "The idea started as more of a music video, then evolved into a narrative spot that centered around the song."

The three-and-a-half-minute video, created by Grey, is a follow up to the success of last year's commercial in which Kevin Bacon lies seductively on a woman's counter to lecture her about eggs and grouch about her use of puns.

This time around, however, he seems more resigned to making his name the butt of the joke.

"My way of approaching spots is to not take myself too seriously," Kevin Bacon says. "If I was to get on the air and make a very, very serious appeal for a product I think I would like kind of like an idiot. I don't think it would fit really well with who I am."
