Time will tell whether Mahershala Ali or Claire Foy might make it to the Oscars stage this year—but whatever happens, we know for sure that Kevin Hart will be there.

The comedian has just been set as the host of the 91st Academy Awards. Hart posted on Instagram to mark the occasion.

The news comes just hours after The Hollywood Reporter published a report on the Academy's struggle to find an Oscars emcee this year.

Describing the hosting gig as "the least wanted job in Hollywood," the trade ran down the requirements for a host (e.g. funny but not controversial, big enough to boost ratings but not so big they'd gain nothing from the job) as well as the pitfalls (e.g. relatively low pay, potential media criticism).

Incidentally, Hart was suggested in that same story as someone who might be a good fit for the job: "funny without being tasteless."

The Academy Awards will air February 24, 2019 on ABC.
