Did KFC create a fake Instagram blogger?

#CleanEating might not be everyone's favourite Instagram trend. But KFC has decided to come after the clean eating brigade in an inexplicable parody.

KFC UK and Ireland tweeted a video of their new "#CleanEating burger," a chia seed-topped cauliflower bun containing spiralised chicken breast dressed with "ice cube relish" and 100% British kale. Right.

At first glance, the tweet could be construed as yet another product announcement. But all is not quite as it seems. The tweet states the product has been made in collaboration with Figgy Poppleton-Rice, a so-called "#CleanEating fanatic and cauliflower connoisseur" whose first Instagram post was a week ago.

When asked by Mashable if the collaboration is a parody, KFC offered an even more inexplicable response. "The KFC spokesperson isn’t available to comment as they are currently looking into an increased cauliflower demand," a press officer for KFC said in an email.

Did KFC create a fake Instagram blogger to come after clean bloggers? It certainly looks that way.
