Getting KFC delivered sounds like something that'd really appeal to the nefariously hungover.

While it's been around in other countries for some time, it's now finally Australia's turn. Up to 12 of the chain's outlets in the country will start delivering within two to three weeks, according to Business Insider.

The fried chicken chain will partner up with local food delivery operator Foodora to sling fried chicken into people's homes, striking a balance between ensuring its food is fresh and delivering to as many customers as it can.

"You've got to work out what's our trade zone versus what's the delivery company's trade zone and how those dovetail together," KFC Australia's managing director Nikki Lawson told the publication.

"You don't want to annoy consumers who sit in the dark spots in between, or you don't want to end up delivering a product where you can't guarantee their freshness."

KFC is the latest fast food outlet to begin delivering in Australia, with McDonald's and chicken chain Red Rooster, alongside Dominos and Pizza Hut which have been long in the delivery game.

Across the ditch, New Zealand has been trialling KFC delivery, with the aid of its local postal service.

Currently it's not known which outlets will be involved in the trial, so you'll have to hang tight until the ball gets rolling. We just hope they still have those lemon-scented refresher towelettes.
