Beleaguered kid picks perfect book quote to write in his diary

Second grade can be a real struggle.

There's no better tool to get us through difficult times than a classic work of literature.

For one second grader, that work is the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, which chronicles the journey of young Greg Heffley as he bumbles his way through middle school.

Is it troubling that this small child already has the angst of a teen? Maybe, but it also means he has a wonderful secret diary, an excerpt from which was published by his parent, Redditor Effex, on Reddit Wednesday.

Replace "2nd grade" with middle school, and it's a direct quote from Wimpy Kid. But that's okay -- this little guy clearly has great taste in books, and besides, you can write whatever the hell you want in your own diary.

See you in Hollywood, kid.
