Krispy Kreme Japan releases glazed watermelon and lemon doughnuts for summer
Krispy Kreme fans in Japan will be able to get their hands on two new flavours that the doughnut brand has released for summer: watermelon and lemon.
Looking more like cheery swimming floats than doughnuts, the fruity sweet treats will be exclusively available for only a month from now until Jul. 19.
Krispy Kreme Japan's website describes the watermelon as "watermelon fruit juice jelly with chocolate chips," and the green outline is made of "watermelon-flavoured chocolate."

The lemon flavoured doughnut is made with a lemon juice glaze, and comes with a sliced lemon resting on it.
The summer flavour release comes hot on the heels of Krispy Kreme's April launch of a doughnut ice cream sandwich, where it placed two scoops of ice cream and frozen berries between two halves of a glazed doughnut.
The U.S. doughnut brand opened in Japan in Dec. 2006.
