Shaolin monks practice death-defying high jumps on the cliff of a mountain
Don't try this at home.
Practicing kungfu on a cliff overlooking a 1,500 meter (4,921 foot) drop is just part of the training for Chinese Shaolin monks.
In these photos taken Thursday, the monks are seen making high jumps well above the hand rails of the walkway, and striking poses perched precariously on the edge of the cliff.

The "Central Great Mountain," as it's known in Chinese, is one of five culturally significant mountains in China, regarded as important pilgrimmage destinations to Buddhists, and its peak is 1,512 m high.
