Alert George Washington: Kylie Jenner says she 'started wigs'
Quick, when is the first time you ever remember seeing a human in a wig? That's right. It was on Kylie Jenner's Snapchat.
Kylie Jenner is one of Marie Claire's fresh faces issue cover girls, looking kind of like a normal teenager and making bold claims about her admittedly massive influence on culture.

"I started wigs, and now everyone is wearing wigs. Kim [Kardashian] just used my wig guy last night," she told Marie Claire. "I just do whatever I want to do, and people will follow."
And while yes, people certainly take note of whatever Jenner does or says she does and try it themselves -- sometimes with terrifying results, like the Kylie Lip Challenge. But wigs have definitely been around long before her time.
Apart from wigs being a thing for the vast majority of recorded history, they are very much something that black women have been working long before Kylie's status as a teen influencer. Considering the fact that Kylie has gotten in trouble for appropriating hair styles of people before, this isn't a particularly bright statement to make.
Kylie does not mention inventing lips, but she may very well be unclear on whether or not they were part of the human form before she singlehandedly sped up evolution to pucker up.
She also invented Post-Its, in case you didn't know.
