Smoking weed on a world tour with the likes of Snoop Dogg sounds pretty standard, but on the professional tennis circuit? Surely not.

Turns out it's pretty acceptable, if you take the word of Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios. He did a brief Q&A on Twitter Tuesday, before his first match at the US Open. He answered a simple "yep" to the long-awaited question of whether you can blaze up while on the circuit.

According to the World Anti-Doping Authority (WADA), Kyrgios is sort of correct. Cannabinoids are prohibited in-competition, but are not prohibited at all times like steroids and peptides -- you know, actual performance enhancers.

However that doesn't mean it's a free-for-all. A player will have to give up consuming cannabis a while before competition to ensure they don't exceed the threshold limit of 150 nanograms per millilitre.

The limit was increased ten-fold in 2013. Maybe WADA's just realistic about what athletes get up to when they're not on the court, field or track.

So athletes, blaze it up! Except when competing.
