'L.A. Noire,' a.k.a. the best detective game, is finally coming to Switch, Xbox One, PS4, and VR
L.A. Noire is getting the modern console resurrection it deserves this November, Rockstar Games announced this morning.
Rockstar's 2011 detective/adventure game L.A. Noire is getting a re-release on the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on Nov. 14. Along with that, select cases form the game are getting the virtual reality treatment with L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files for the HTC Vive.
All three new console versions of L.A. Noire include the full game and all DLC. The Switch version is compatible with Joy Con motion and gesture controls and adds touch screen controls. The Xbox One and PS4 versions both received an HD makeover and will be playable in 4K on the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X.
L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files will include seven cases from the original game rebuilt for a virtual reality experience.
For those who missed L.A. Noire the first time around, you play as a detective in 1940s Los Angeles, gathering evidence and talking to suspects and witnesses alike, reading their reactions to determine what exactly happened. The game was received very well by fans and critics.
This marks the first time a major console game from Rockstar Games has been released on a Nintendo console since Bully came to the Wii in 2009, and shines a little light of hope for Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto re-releases across every platform in the future.
