Some ladders can't handle life's responsibilities.

We're not sure what went wrong in this ladder's life. Perhaps the pressure of too many people climbing it, or always feeling used and doing a thankless job has become too much.

Regardless, the ladder seems to think the solution is to run away rather than face its problems.
