Lady Gaga reveals why she's cancelling Europe tour in emotional Instagram post
Lady Gaga is rescheduling the European leg of her Joanne World Tour as she is living with "severe pain" that is impacting "her ability to perform."
Gaga shared an emotional note to fans on her Instagram explaining her condition, alongside an official statement on the postponement of the tour.
"Lady Gaga is suffering from severe physical pain that has impacted her ability to perform. She remains under the care of expert medical professionals who recommended the postponement earlier today," reads the official statement.
"Lady Gaga is devastated that she has to wait to perform for her European fans," the statement continued. Gaga will spent the next seven weeks working with doctors to "heal from this and past traumas that still affect her," according to the statement.
In Gaga's Instagram post, the singer said she had "always been honest" about her physical and mental health conditions, and has been "searching for years to get to the bottom of them."
"As I get stronger and when I feel ready, I will tell my story in more depth, and plan to take this on strongly so I can not only raise awareness, but expand research for others who suffer as I do, so I can help make a difference," wrote Gaga.
"I'm a fighter," she wrote. "I use the word suffer not only because trauma and chronic pain have changed my life, but because they are keeping me from living a normal life."
Gaga added that the chronic pain and trauma are preventing her from what she loves "most in the world," performing for her fans.
Gaga said she was looking forward to touring again soon, but needs to be with her doctors right now so she can "perform for you all for the next 60 years or more."
Get well soon, Gaga.
