Lady Gaga's Golden Globes dress was a beautiful homage to the 1954 version of 'A Star is Born'

You can always rely on Lady Gaga to make a statement with her outfits. And a statement she most certainly made with her Valentino dress on the red carpet at the Golden Globes.

Gaga's dress bore a strong resemblance to the gown worn by Judy Garland in the 1954 version of the A Star Is Born movie.

Here's a look at the bluey-purple dress.

Side by side, the resemblance is pretty uncanny.

The song “Shallow" won the Golden Globe for the Best Original Song.
