LOS ANGELES -- Next year's Super Bowl halftime show is guaranteed to be a lot livelier than Coldplay.

Lady Gaga confirmed the longstanding rumors Thursday via Twitter that she's set to lead the halftime show at Super Bowl LI in February 2017, and even managed to throw in a sneaky plug for her latest single, "Perfect Illusion," in the process.

The main act during this year's show was British band Coldplay, but the rockers were soundly upstaged by guest performances from Beyonce and Bruno Mars, who had previously headlined the Super Bowl halftime shows in 2013 and 2014.

Gaga's too smart to mix in any of the schmaltzy, badly panned David Bowie medley she threw together for the Grammys. She was better received during this year's Super Bowl 50, where she sang the national anthem.

The 2017 Super Bowl will be held Feb. 5 at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.
