Reminder: Lena Dunham doesn’t give ‘the tiniest of shits’ what you think about her body

"So much love to all my web friends who demand that life be more than a daily weigh in, who know their merit has nothing to do with their size, who fight to be seen and heard and accepted."

Lena Dunham has long been the recipient of repeated, unwarranted weight commentary, and this week's proved no different. Photos of the Dunham at a recent press event inspired substance-free, appearance-focused headlines everywhere from The Sun to CNN.

In response to the uptick in coverage, Dunham penned a quick reminder that she still doesn't give "the tiniest of shits" about how anyone feels about her body.

And yes, that includes those "bullshit before-and-after pictures" tabloids are so fond of.

"I smile just as wide no matter my current size because I'm proud of what this body has seen and done and represented," she wrote. "Chronic illness sufferer. Body-shaming vigilante. Sexual assault survivor. Raging hottie. Just like all of YOU."

She went on to thank model Ashley Graham who penned a Lenny Letter piece on fielding body criticisms throughout her career. Dunham also thanked fitness instructor Tracy Anderson for introducing her to the mental health benefits of exercise, and her Girls co-creator Jenni Konner for her continued support.

"So much love to all my web friends who demand that life be more than a daily weigh in, who know their merit has nothing to do with their size, who fight to be seen and heard and accepted."
