It doesn't matter if you're a CIA assassin — Lena Dunham is over guns.

On Tuesday, the actress reposted a call to action from How I Met Your Mother and Girls producer and writer Tami Sagher that encouraged New Yorkers to rid Jason Bourne ads of guns as an act of protest.

"Hey New Yorkers, what if we just peel off the guns in the Jason Bourne ads," Sagher tweeted. "So tired of guns."

The subway ads depict Matt Damon in character, with an outstretched arm holding a gun. In the image Sagher posted, the gun is peeled away, revealing the previous ad instead of his weapon.

The original tweet was immediately reposted by Dunham, who echoed the call for action with full support.

Creator and educator Peter Musante did a similar action a few days before Dunham or Sagher, and has responded to their posts with a call to "start a movement."

"I just couldn't pass this godawful thing without doing something about it," he posted on Instagram. "Especially today."

These actions come at a time of a national gun control debate and conversation around police militarization. One person who peeled Bourne's gun away called it the "most nerve-wracking 45 seconds" of his life.

Dunham has been vocal about social justice issues, from gun control to sexism in the entertainment industry.

"For me, it honestly took becoming a public person and being held accountable by viewers and readers to really understand and begin to engage in an intersectional (and therefore whole) approach to life and work," she posted on Instagram.
