Forget those dreams you've been having about owning a 42-foot luxury yacht that can easily haul your eight closest friends -- Lexus's futuristic concept cruiser is now becoming a 65-foot long reality.

The Lexus Sport Yacht that was revealed last year with its two V8 engines and a 49-mph top speed as a joint effort between Lexus's design team and Toyota Marine Division's engineering team is getting a major upgrade. The boat will keep the same high-end entertainment system and handmade wood and leather interior as the original concept -- but will grow significantly in size.

The original concept received an award at the Japan International Boat Show last week, and a Toyota executive used the occasion to announce a new premium version moving beyond the original concept after testing and building the Sport Yacht last year.

The newest version of the Lexus Sport Yacht will be a 65-foot sport flybridge cruiser with enough space for up to 15 people, who can stay in below-deck luxury staterooms in addition to taking a seat on the main deck.

More specs and pricing about the newer, bigger yacht are expected later, but the boat will use Lexus' connected services platform for smartphone integration and remote diagnostic, security, and maintenance services — a huge boon for any tech-obsessed buyers out there.

If you're eagerly awaiting for this boat to go on sale, you still have plenty of time to get your finances in order. The luxury boat will be available later into 2019 in the U.S. and then in Japan in spring 2020 -- so start building a list of your 15 closest friends now.
