After month of rumors and speculation, the new LG swivel-screened phone has an official name: The LG Wing.

The Wing moniker was previously used as a codename for the device, in reference to the phone's dual panels, one of which will swivel out for use as a secondary screen. This will also be first phone created under LG's Explorer Project, which is "aimed at discovering new ways to interact with mobile devices," according to the company's recent press release.

Four days before the Wing name was confirmed, LG invited users to "Discover the Unexplored" with a video teasing the Explorer Project and the LG Wing's silhouette; the video gave a date and time for the company's eventual livestream, which will take place on Sept. 14 at 11:00 a.m. PT.

A previous article on Mashable pointed out that the swiveling screen is not a new concept for LG, which released the LG LU1400 a whole 10 years ago, though that screen rotated to expose the phone's keyboard instead of an entirely new display.
