LONDON -- A comic book series featuring LGBTQ+ superheroes is to be published following a successful Kickstarter campaign.

The Pride's plot centres on protagonist FabMan, who decides he's had enough of the poor representation, treatment and media coverage of LGBTQ+ superheroes, and resolves to form his own group of "queer powerhouses".

UK-based Joe Glass, creator and writer of The Pride, launched the Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to produce a large print run of the action series in order to promote strong LGBTQ+ awareness.

The Pride has been a work from my heart for a long time, and the support of the fans and community has been out of this world,” says Glass in a statement.

With a goal of £13,000 ($18,661), the campaign ended on £20,460 ($29,369), after hundreds of people backed the crowdfunding campaign to publish six issues of The Pride in one edition.
