Man creates spot-on replica of wand described in 'Harry Potter' books
Listen up, Harry Potter fans, this is as close to a real wand as it gets.
Imugr user whytegoodman went to great lengths to create a highly realistic replica of the wand used by Harry Potter's mother, Lily, in the Harry Potter book series.
The creative craftsman crafted the wand for his girlfriend, a "massive" Potter fan whose favorite character is Lily.

"There are lots of weird and wonderful prop replicas available, but ... [Lily's wand] doesn't feature in a film," he wrote.
So he based his design on the way wandmaker Mr. Ollivander's describes Lily's wand in the books: "Ten and one quarter inches long, swishy, made of willow. Nice wand for charm work."
First, he found a few willow samples from a tree near his home.
They were damp, so he had to defrost them. Then, after several attempts, he shaped one into wand form using a lathe.
After sanding, buffing and polishing, the wand was looking nearly Hogwarts-ready. All it needed was a bit of copper detail.
"I'm pretty happy with the result," he said. We're betting his girlfriend was too.
