Starring in a revolutionary Broadway musical hasn't stopped Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda from picking up multiple side projects -- and soon enough, he might have yet another feather in his cap.

Miranda is in talks to join Disney's upcoming Mary Poppins sequel, which is set to star Emily Blunt as the magical nanny originally brought to life by Julie Andrews in 1964.

The new film follows Jane and Michael Banks, now adults, and Michael's three children, when the Mary Poppins returns to help the family recover from a troubling loss. Miranda would play Mary's friend Jack, a "lamplighter" who, like Bert (Dick Van Dyke) in the original film, helps her bring happiness back to the Banks clan.

Rob Marshall is set to direct the film, produced by Marc Platt and John DeLuca, with a screenplay by David Magee. Smash and Harispray scribes Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman will compose the music and original songs...though Miranda has some experience with that department as well.

Miranda has numerous ties to Disney, including music composition for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Moana and the fact that he named his son after the crab from The Little Mermaid
