It's been a solid 33 years since Linda Hamilton first blasted her way onto our screens as the supremely badass Sarah Connor.

She was in the original Terminator movie, and then in the 1991 sequel, but by the time of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines her character was no more.

Arnie was still going strong, but there was no sign of Sarah Connor.

Well, good news, Linda Hamilton fans -- according to a recent statement from James Cameron, she's making a comeback.

"As meaningful as she was to gender and action stars everywhere back then, it’s going to make a huge statement to have that seasoned warrior that she’s become return," said Cameron at a private event on Tuesday night, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

"There are 50-year-old, 60-year-old guys out there killing bad guys, but there isn't an example of that for women."

There were already reports earlier this year that Arnold Schwarzenegger was set to return to the franchise in Cameron's upcoming movie -- so all being well this could be one hell of a reunion.
