The first live-action 'Aladdin' poster is giving us all kinds of feelings
Will Smith revealed the first poster for DIsney's live-action Aladdin remake in a Facebook post on Wednesday. It features the film's iconic lamp and a secret about what awaits inside it, as well as the warning "Choose wisely."
In the 1992 film, this is where Aladdin finds the lamp: Atop a tower of stones in the middle of a lake of lava in the Cave of Wonders. The poster uses coloring exactly like the animated film, featuring ornate engravings on the lamp and a wisp of blue smoke hinting at the genie within.
The tagline, "Choose wisely," doesn't feature in the original film (though it might be a misguided Indiana Jones reference just because it involves a fancy gold artifact).
The live-action Aladdin started filming in September 2017, a few months delayed after a prolonged casting process. Smith plays Genie alongside Mena Massoud as Aladdin, Naomi Scott as Jasmine, and Marwan Kenzari as Jafar. Billy Magnussen will also feature in the film as a new character, Prince Anders.
Aladdin is due in theaters May 24, 2019.
This post has been updated with the correct name of the actress playing Jasmine.
