Logan Paul, the YouTuber who posted a video earlier this week showing an apparent victim of suicide, is taking a break from YouTube.

Good.

The 22-year-old Vine star-turned-YouTube celebrity announced Thursday that he is taking a break from vlogging to reflect on his actions after receiving criticism for his Tuesday video titled "We found a dead body in the Japanese Suicide Forest." Paul has uploaded vlogs to YouTube on a near-daily basis for over a year, garnering over 15 million subscribers.

Since Paul's videos started making headlines, he removed the video and issued two apologies. In the second apology, Paul told his fans not to stand up for him. Despite that and despite the overwhelmingly negative reactions to Paul's disturbing and tasteless video, some fans continue to support him on YouTube and Twitter, stand up for his actions, and even liken him to Jesus.

Others, understandably, are not so forgiving.

YouTube has also come under fire for allowing the video to be published and then stay up on the site for hours after it was posted. The platform, which allows people like Paul to upload video content for free, is not exactly swift when it comes to recognizing harmful content and taking it down.

Paul did not mention when he would be making another video.

If you want to talk to someone or are experiencing suicidal thoughts, text the Crisis Text Line at 741-741 or call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255. Here is a list of international resources.
