LONDON -- As a Rope Access Level 3 supervisor, Guy Hayhow abseils from the top of some of the tallest buildings in London to conduct maintenance, glass replacements, surveys and construction. He also brings his iPhone, strapped tightly to him by his lanyard, where he takes photos that he posts on Instagram.

So far he's worked on some of London's most iconic buildings: London's Shard, the Heron tower in Bishopsgate, the Millennium Dome during the Rugby World Cup and the National Portrait Gallery, among others.

The results are enough to make even the most urban-phobic wonder at London's architectural skyline.

"When you get a cloud inversion (when the air above the clouds is warmer than the air below), it looks like you’re in a plane above the clouds," Hayhow tells Mashable

"It might be a murky day down on the ground in London but from above the clouds it’s sunny and beautiful."

And there may be more to come from farther afield: "I explored Sydney and worked on the Opera House," he said, "but I lost the images on a phone that died, which I’m hoping to recover."
