‘Go F*ck Ur Selfie’: Someone vandalized a popular selfie spot in LA

Unfortunately, it backfired because people kept taking selfies anyway.

We regret to inform you that Los Angeles' influencer hotspot, the iconic hot pink wall, has been vandalized.

With its vibrant rosy hue, the Paul Smith Limited building in West Hollywood -- better known as just "the pink wall" -- is an immensely popular backdrop for photoshoots. Influencers, tourists, and locals alike flock to what LA Mag, Racked, and the LA Times list as one of the the most Instagrammed walls in the city.

You've probably seen it will scrolling through your feed.

Someone vandalized the pink wall on Wednesday, spray painting "GO FUCK UR SELFIE" over its fuchsia facade.

The vandal scrawled "thrash" at the base of the wall -- it's most likely a signature from Thrashbird, a self-proclaimed "multidisciplinary artist" and "cereal disruptor" whose bio reads like a anarchist manifesto. The bio proclaims, "As a teen I subverted mainstream cultures and mentalities ... I like expression where there are grey walls. That is why I like to do street art."

Thrashbird has not responded to request for comment, but seemed to take responsibility for embellishing the wall on his Instagram story.

Thrashbird's work often reflects on the "obsessional interest in celebrity" and "over-reliance on technology."

How Black Mirror!

West Hollywood residents were relieved that with the wall out of order, they could finally drive around their neighborhood without dodging influencers.

But the wall's new message didn't deter all photoshoots. People started posing on the other side of the building instead.

Some even embraced it.

A paint crew began painting over the wall by Wednesday afternoon.

So don't worry, LA -- your pink wall will be back to normal in no time.
