So, what does the Internet have to do with a random brick and mortar store? Frankly, people are obsessed with Lush bath bombs. Call them a cult favorite. They even inspire memes:

So, the company created a way to better bridge the gap.

In the Lush app beta, the interface is simple, with bestsellers and new products clearly laid out.

The app recommends products based on "feeling" or "scent," similar to Lush's noteworthy in-store experience — clerks ask intimate questions tailored to each consumer's needs and preferences.

Each listing includes what the products are made of and how to use them.

Like the website, users create an app profile that remembers which products they've purchased. Users can keep track of wishlists and connect with customer care.

In the "Stories" tab, Lush combines lighthearted beauty editorials with more serious articles about Lush’s ethics. Lush participates in charitable giving, has multiple sustainable initiatives and supports human and animal rights, and environmental issues.

Users can learn about about the ethical sourcing of Lush's ingredients, including the SLush Fund, in which 2% of the money Lush spends on raw material and packaging supports sustainable farming and community projects.

Though the website allows customers to set alerts when their favorite products are delivered, the feature is not yet available on the app. A Lush representative tells Mashable it will be implemented soon.

While you won't get the full Lush experience (talking to the knowledgeable staff, getting to try products before you buy), the company's app is another helpful step for its digital fan base.

Unfortunately, there's no way to smell the products via the app but we're watching closely.
