Australian man Brody Murray has taken pet ownership to its greatest height. Not only has he trained his two pet macaws to roam free like a Pomeranian at a park, but he's attached cameras to his feathery friends to capture a real bird's eye view.

Murray has trained his pet macaws Roku and Korra to free fly. Free flying is the avian equivalent of walking your dog without a leash, if your dog could also defy gravity. Murray chronicles these escapades of the sky on his YouTube channel and Instagram account, which give a glimpse at the sensation of flight just as Aladdin experienced it.

Speaking with the ABC, Murray said that he had copped a lot of criticism for training his birds to free fly. A large amount of the criticism came from trainers and bird owners with the ironic opinion that birds belonged in cages, and that they could become lost or meet danger.

A great deal of the training skills were taught to Murray by Texas-based trainer Chris Biro. Murray says that training birds in free flight is akin to training a dog to be able to walk without a leash, adding that the intellectual capacity of a macaw surpasses that of your standard canine companion.

BONUS

Murray giving his birds a tummy scratch is weirdly adorable and will probably make you want to ditch your dog for the cooler flying version.
