Being a major star in Game of Thrones is obviously super cool -- but it must be pretty darn time-consuming, too.

Everyone's favourite list-keeper and Frey-slayer, a.k.a. Maisie Williams, recently spoke to BBC Newsbeat about her plans after Game of Thrones is over.

From the sounds of it, she can't wait.

"I'm really excited for Game of Thrones to finish and there's going to be time for me to do whatever I want," Williams said.

"That's just incredibly exciting and it will be nice to pick roles that I want to do."

Williams explained that she's just started her own production company, and that she's keen to get more involved in the world of independent films.

She appeared at the British Independent Film Awards on Wednesday to announce the nominees, and told BBC Newsbeat she's keen to make and star in an independent film herself.

"I can show the world what sort of actress I want to be and shape my career a little bit," Williams said.

Leaving Game of Thrones may be a strange feeling, but on balance it sounds like Williams is ready for a change.

"On one hand it's really nerve-wracking to know that I won't have that support blanket and safety net," she said. "But on the other hand I'm free."
