Man discovers a lost wallet drinking challenge has been held in his honor for 14 years

What a legend.

If you've ever lost your wallet, you'll know that first comes the overwhelming feeling of panic and frustration followed by a moment of clarity in which you force yourself to let it go.

Tim Burrows had put the mystery of his lost wallet to rest 14 years go at the Reading Festival. So he was surprised when over a decade later, the revelation of his lost wallet came to him via Facebook messenger.

Burrows shared the hilarious conversation on Twitter.

A man named Giles had been messaging all the Tim Burrows on Facebook in order to find the man whose wallet his friends found back in 2003.

"I think my friends found it in a ditch near orange and yellow camp in 2003," wrote Giles. "If indeed it was yours, it was handed in to lost and found, but not before one of them 'burrowed' a 10er out of it and bought as much white lightning he could find."

That year, Giles and his friends held the Tim Burrows Drinking Challenge – a cider drinking competition that would become an annual tradition in honor of the man whose money they stole.

Twitter had some hilarious reactions to Burrows' surprise message.
