LONDON -- The thought of actually eating human flesh is pretty grim, but admit it -- you'd be sort of interested to know what it tastes like, wouldn't you?

Enter Greg Foot, the Brit Lab presenter on a stomach-churning mission to discover the real flavours of human flesh.

Now Foot can't actually eat himself in the video -- even though it's his own flesh, that'd still be illegal. But he can use the magic of science to analyse the flavours.

First, he gets some leg muscle removed.

Ouch.

The samples are then cooked up so the aromas can be analysed in a lab.

"That actually smells quite nice," says Foot, wafting a beaker of his own leg meat in front of his nose.

"It's really meaty though, like a lot richer than pork or chicken... it's like beef and ale stew or something."

Finally, Foot creates a burger made up of the meats -- lamb, pork -- that his own flesh most closely matches in terms.

"It's like really beefy, bit lamby... I think that's going to be the closest I'm ever going to get to tasting human," Foot finishes.

"And you know what? It's pretty good."
